For the occasion of "Workers Day" the Palestinian-Lebanese coalition's commissions has carried out for "right to work for the campaign of the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon," protestations in all areas of Lebanon on April 30 at the eleventh o'clock, as follows:

  • Beirut : the protest was in front of the Ministry of Labor and the presence of about 100 people and a memorandum submitted to the Minister of Labor Mohammad Fneish, and it was received by his representative Director of the Office of the Ministry of Labor, Mr.... The event was covered by broadcasting al-Manar.
  • Saida : the protest was in front of the municipality of Saida with a presence of about 350 people from local Lebanese and Palestinian institutions, union workers, and independents. The protest was of several speeches, one of them addressed by the mayor of Saida, Dr. Abdul Rahman al-Bizri, and another speech was by Saad Mohamed Dahir the representative of MP Osama. Also another speech was for Lebanese institutions gathering Majid Hmto. In addition a speech for the Palestinian-Lebanese coalition of right to work campaign this was formed by association Najdeh. And the speaker was from "Al Naba organization".

Mr. Mohamed Dahir said that Palestinian brothers in Lebanon suffer from severe political, social, and security problems. The power in Lebanon deals with the Palestinian people as if they are not people who hold a serious case, and there is a racist attitude against the Palestinians in Lebanon and there are racist laws against Palestinian. He spoke about his support to Palestinians to take their political and social rights, and, including the right to work. He confirmed his support for all options for Palestinian to take their civil and humanitarian rights.
Dr. Abdul Rahman Albzri praised the importance of the campaign to take their right to work for access to political rights. He spoke about the right to work as it is a right for every person as it was approved by the law of the United Nations. So, by what right we deprived a full and able person from his right to work. They violate the laws by depriving the Palestinian from their right in inheritance.

  • Tyre : The protest was in front of the Tyre's token monument and the attendees were approximately 200 people from Palestinian and Lebanese local institutions and a number of heads of municipalities: Majdal Zun and Toura, Mayors: Bourj Shamali, Chbriha and Tyre, to trade unions of: workers, hospital workers in the south and the water company of the South, Palestinian and Lebanese institutions, and independents.          

During the protest, a speech for the Commission of the Coalition, for lawyer's union, for lawyer Raeed Attaya was recited. Attaya spoke about the initiation of the campaign since 2005 and its continuity in spite of all the difficult circumstances that we experienced during this time period. Then, he spoke about Palestinian people as they are temporary guests / refugees and the official systems must deal with them exclusively as they are not pure foreign. He insured that the rights of Palestinians had been lost from UNRWA on the right hand, and from Lebanese government on the other. The Lebanese government considered that UNRWA is responsible for Palestinians to find work opportunities for them. UNRWA considers that the Lebanese government must insure the civil rights for Palestinian people. The protest was covered by Al Liwaa newspaper on May 1st, 2009.

4. Bekaa: Because of security conditions, the protest has been replaced by symposium in Saadnayel. The attendees were approximately 55 people from local institutions and heads of municipalities and a former Mayor. The protest included A speech was recited by coalition's commission, and another speech for People's committee. The head of Saadnayel's municipality spoke about the right of the Palestinian labor in Lebanon as all Palestinian in all Arab countries work. But, regrettably, the policy of the Lebanese government is trying to keep the Palestinian poverty in order to force him to think about migration. As for the work is a legitimate right of the Palestinians. The Popular committee asked the Lebanese government to find work for the Palestinians as Lebanese workers. Especially that Palestinians are persisting people.

5. At north of Lebanon ( Baddawi camp): According to the security conditions, the protest has been replaced within the camp by seminar. The attendees were approximately 100 people from the civil and neighborhood institutions. During the protest, a speech was recited by the Coalition Commission.
